Procurement Act 2023 Announcement

The biggest transformation to UK procurement law in years is happening soon. The Procurement Act, which will reform the existing Procurement Rules had a ‘go-live’ date of 28 October 2024 for the new regime.

On 12th September 2024 the Cabinet Office announced a delay of four months until the new regime starts, in order to provide time for a new National Procurement Policy Statement (NPPS) to be produced, meaning the new date for the commencement of the new regime is now 24th February 2025.

A reminder that existing legislation will apply until the new regime goes live, and will also continue to apply to in process procurement exercises started under the current rules.
